Art.103 Two-Dimensional Design

Course Objectives & Intended Outcomes

All assignments for this course will be evaluated based on the student's ability to demonstrate the following outcomes:

  • Development of Craft—the ability and precision with which the student is able to manipulate and use the materials. This includes the presentation of the assignment.
  • Sensitivity—the ability to make visual judgments with regard to the elements and principles of design and the materials being used.
  • Understanding—the ability to understand the problem and resolve it within the parameters given.
  • Creativity—the ability to develop a unique solution.

In addition, the student will demonstrate involvement in a creative process and evidence of the ability to express visual ideas.

The student will participate in critique of the work of self and others, practicing the use of a design vocabulary.

The student will design compositions using a proscribed ideation and revision process.

The student will demonstrate familiarity with basic two-dimensional and digital media.
