Transformation/Animation
Assignment To begin, go to the library or use the Internet to find an appropriate image of your animal to work from. (Pay attention to resolution issues if you use an Internet image!) You may choose to photocopy as a starting place for developing an illustration of your animal that will serve as your final image or you may use the computer as an illustration and production tool. Be aware, however, that computer output must be either inkjet on photopaper or FujiFilm Pictrography output ($4 per 8.5" x 11" image, for a minimum total of $16). Your images will be developed for a 5" x 7" picture plane with adequate white space around the image. You will create 7 panels, total, with the letterform as your first panel and the animal as your last panel. Each panel will be mounted on white illustration board with 2" borders on all sides. Preparing
roughs Draw each progression across a sheet of paper to better see it develop in sequence. Use tracing paper to trace the outline of your image and transfer the outline as a guide for drawing the next image in your progression. You should spend more time on the rough of your final drawing than the other drawings in your progression. Generally, drawings should be rough rather than finished, but must communicate your intention clearly. Digital
Component To successfully complete this assignment, you must submit a clean zip disk (containing no other files) titled on the desktop and on the outside of the disk with your name containing the following:
